Lingerie Care Guide

Ladies, a bra is not a Mercedes, it won't last you 10 years! But if you want it to last you even 6 months, then the way in which you wash your bra is key.

If your bras are washed, dried and stored correctly, they will last longer and and give you more support. The very best way to wash your bras is by hand, with a mild intimates detergent. Don't use a detergent that is intended for sweaters, such as Woolite, as this can break down the elastic.

The very best way NOT to wash your bras is in a washing machine. In fact, this is a sure-fire way to decrease the shelf-life of your bra, and possibly even destroy your bra all together.

We recommend that you replace your bras every 6 to 9 months, depending on your bust size and how many bras you have in rotation. Over time, the elastic in a bra band wears out and stops offering support. This is especially true for everyday bras and full figure bras.

Below are the instructions for different methods on caring for your bras. If you have any questions about how to care for your bras, please email us for more advice. Our expert bra fitters are here to help!

Hand Washing Your Bras (Preferred Method)
  1. Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water.
  2. Add Silk & Lingerie Wash as specified on the container.
  3. Soak lingerie for up to one hour.
  4. Rinse the bras of excess wash.
  5. Pat dry the bras and reshape the cups with your hands. Don't wring out or stretch your bras.
  6. Hang the bras to dry. NEVER ever put your bras in the dryer!
Storing Your Molded Cup Bras
  1. Stack your bras in your drawer.
  2. Never invert one cup into the other. Doing so destroys the fibers in the molding,
makes the cups bumpy, and shortens the life of your bra.
  3. When traveling, pack your Molded Cup Bras last, stacking one on top of each other,
and stuff the cups with panties so that they hold their shape. For extra protection, use a molded Bra Travel Case.
